Henderson Park Ribbon Cutting

On September 25, the City of Pass Christian and the DMR/MGCNHA cut the ribbon on Henderson Park. MDMR acquired this near seven acre site in June 2010. The funds were provided by the Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP), Tidelands and MGCNHA. The restoration and development of Henderson Park has provided for passive recreation and environmental education. The main goal of Henderson Park is to be an environmentally friendly park. It was constructed in a sustainable manner and is accessible and useable for the public to enjoy in a natural habitat. The restoration included native shrubs and plantings for a Mississippi landscape while preserving the more than 20 live oaks that survived Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Camille.
