Jones Park is located in the center of Gulfport, Mississippi. It sits on 60 acres of land and is considered the “Front Yard for the State of Mississippi.” Jones Park is a signature facility for the City of Gulfport. It has come a long way since Hurricane Katrina when flood waters submerged it by 25 feet. The Park and its facilities needed a complete rebuild, relying on multiple funding sources and spanning over 7 years to complete the revamp of all the facilities. Jones Park reopened to the public in May 2012.

A variety of amenities are found at the park including two pavilions: one 23,000 square foot pavilion and another a 5,000 square foot pavilion, a splash pad and playground area, a marina services building, 319 slip marina and promenade walk, a replica lighthouse, a fuel dock and bait shop and more.

The splash pad is great fun for cooling off in hot months. It is open from May to September. It has a tropical theme and combines a variety of water movements including flowing, misting, and jetting. It is a tranquil place for families and adults to relax and the perfect spot for kids to be kids.
