Historic Grass Lawn

Historic Grass Lawn, known also as the Milner House, was built circa 1836 by Dr. Hiram Alexander Roberts of Port Gibson, Mississippi. One of the oldest houses on the Mississippi coast, it was two-stories and Greek Revival style. Entered in the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, it was purchased by the City of Gulfport in 1973. Unfortunately, the original structure was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. The city built a replica that was completed in 2012. The Second Grass Lawn will be enjoyed as an event venue and visitors center for Gulfport managed by the Historical Society of Gulfport.
