The Old Firehouse Museum records, preserves and collects the documents and artifacts of the history of Wiggins and Stone County Mississippi. It is housed in what was once the Wiggins’ Fire Department and thus gets its name.A dedicated and determined group of former Stone County school teachers founded the museum in 2013. The founders, with the help of many volunteers, continue to gather and assemble the stories and history of Stone County.

As part of its ongoing mission, the museum has started several new traditions such as a doll show and tea party in honor of the Stapp sisters who greatly contributed to the culture and education of Stone County’s children. It recognizes the importance of the railroad to the county with a model train show and celebration which is held in the Historic Depot in Wiggins.

A few of the notable exhibits housed in the museum include a WWII Memorial, timber tools, hometown heroes, an overview of the county’s communities, former industries and schools.

The museum is supported and funded by the City of Wiggins and contributions from volunteers and visitors.
