Once a year The George County Fairgrounds welcome almost as many people to its friendly confines as reside in the entire county. About 20,000 people head for the 17-acre facility on Old Highway 63 South in Lucedale.

The fair is Tuesday through Saturday the 3rd week in October. George County 4-H Club agents judge 8,000 entries from crafts to food to clothing. Generations of Mississippians show and sell their sheep, beef, goats, and swine. The Lucedale Rotary Club Mississippi State University Extension Service act as the fair’s main sponsors.
