Visiting the Walter Anderson Museum of Art (WAMA) is a unique experience for the whole family. WAMA opened in 1991 and celebrated the works of Walter Inglis Anderson (1903-1965). Anderson was a master artist who loved to depict plants, animals, and life along the Gulf Coast of Mississippi. WAMA’s exhibitions change throughout the year; a reflection of the many significant artists that are showcased here. If you have time during your visit, you can check out the Ocean Springs Community Center; home to the Walter Anderson mural. You can also visit the WAMA website for more information on guided tours and permanent exhibitions.
