Harrison County

Harrison County is the perfect destination for any seafood lovin’ aficionado. The county was established in 1898 and is widely considered to be one of the top seafood capitals of the world. Patrons can visit the Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum & Beauvoir to learn more about the deep history of seafood on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The museum also showcases the famous Biloxi Schooners, authentic replica oyster ships from the early 1900’s that sail along the Gulf of Mississippi.



Fun Fact: The Mississippi State shell is the Oyster.
