Welcome the arrival of spring at the Pine Hill Festival in downtown Wiggins March 17-18, 2017. The annual street festival is on the 3rd weekend of March. You’ll find local residents, friends and visitors strolling Pine Hill Avenue to Blaylock Park and over to the Historic Courthouse during this fun-filled 3-day event.
There is something for everyone, a variety of live music underneath the Ben & Janice Carpenter pavilion in Blaylock Park along with fun games and activities for kids, booths filled with lots of arts and crafts from regional artisans. The wonderful smell of foods wafting through the air will tempt you to stop by any of the nearly dozen food booths. A classic car show takes place on the grounds of the county courthouse. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the heritage of Stone County, its’ citizens and the creativity found in South Mississippi.
One of the oldest festivals in southern Mississippi, the Pine Hill Festival is now the largest single event in the county and was started as a way to showcase the large array of local arts and crafts and to show off the quaint downtown area of Wiggins. Today’s festival, planned and organized by a dedicated group of community volunteers, still honors it’s tradition of featuring our own arts and crafts and has grown over the years to offer so much more.
